Calli Townsend is the program manager for MSFIN & MS-SCM. She is your first point of contact for questions regarding your program, and you'll see her making weekly announcements in class, planning events, and assisting you with any questions or concerns you have. Calli has a strong passion for higher education and has worked as a coach/mentor since 2020. She earned a Master's in Public Health from the University of Arizona, as well as Bachelor's degrees in Special Education and Psychology from the University of Arizona. Born and raised in Arizona, she is no stranger to the harsh summers but prefers that over a snowy winter! In her free time, Calli enjoys spending time with her two cats and working as a licensed massage therapist.
Wadzi Kativu is the Associate Director, overseeing five specialized master’s programs (MACC, MTAX, MSFIN, MSECON and MS-SCM). Born in Zimbabwe but raised in Arizona, she attended ASU and earned her bachelor's degrees in Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School. She has worked in higher education since 2011 and has a passion for student success, leadership development and inclusivity in education. She loves connecting with people and thrives on new challenges and opportunities to grow. On a personal note, Wadzi loves to travel, read, cook and spend time with her family.

Your Faculty Director
Mitch Towner earned his PhD in Finance from the University of Texas-Austin. His areas of expertise are capital structure, corporate governance, investor activism, institutional investors, and corporate finance.
Anand Bhattacharya is a Professor of Finance Practice in the Department of Finance, W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University and serves as the faculty director for the MS Finance program. In addition, he also consults with financial institutions on issues of balance sheet restructuring and asset valuation.
Prior to joining ASU in 2009, he was President and CEO of a wholly owned mortgage subsidiary of Bank of America. Prior to assuming that role, he was a Managing Director responsible for the management of fixed income research and strategy; development of trading, valuation and risk management systems; and management of technological infrastructure. His prior supervisory positions include Managing Director responsible for capital markets and risk management at Imperial Credit Industries Inc. and Managing Director, Global Head of Fixed Income Research and Strategy and a member of the Taxable Fixed Income Operating Committee at Prudential Securities Inc. Earlier on in his career, Dr. Bhattacharya held positions in research and product management at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, Franklin Savings Association and Security Pacific Merchant Bank.
He has written extensively in various facets of fixed income valuation and debt portfolio management and authored or co-authored over 70 publications in various academic, professional journals and industry handbooks. He has also co-authored or co-edited 3 books on mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities. Dr. Bhattacharya earned his Ph.D. in Finance from Arizona State University in 1984.
